American Pancakes


When a regular pancake just isn't enough; reach of the American Pancakes!


200 grams
Self-Raising Flour
1 teaspoon
Baking Powder
1 pinch
Egg (Large)
300 milliliters
Semi-Skimmed Milk
25 grams
Unsalted Butter
Fat for Frying


  1. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl and create a well.
  2. Pour the egg and 100ml of milk into the well.
  3. Mix the batter together, adding the rest of the milk gradually.
  4. Beat in the melted butter.
  5. Heat a frying pan and fat.
  6. Use a tablespoon to add a small amount of batter to the frying pan.  Make 4 pancakes at a time.
  7. Cook each pancake for 3 minutes on one side
  8. Flip pancakes and cook for another 2 minutes or until golden.
